The collection of prints and drawings includes more than 15,000 works on paper comprising a survey of the history of the graphic arts from the late 15th century to the present. The museum has particularly strong holdings in Modernism. Every major European and American artist and movement of the 19th and 20th centuries are represented, concentrations in key areas are strong, and landmarks of modern printmaking are abundant.
The museum also has a small, but representative, collection of photographs, as well as a substantial assemblage of historical and contemporary works by artists of Hawai‘i.
